We exist to give mortgage brokers the products, the people, and the operational backbone to win deals that no one else can close — and to do it every time, without exception.
The mortgage broker channel is the best thing that ever happened to borrowers. An independent professional whose job is to find the right loan from the right lender — not to sell whatever is on their own shelf. The broker model produces better outcomes. It creates competition. It serves borrowers that the direct channel leaves behind.
But for years, brokers were being let down by the lenders they depended on. Products that sounded good but came with conditions nobody disclosed. Approvals that turned into declines after the borrower started packing boxes. Rate locks that held until they didn't. AEs who disappeared when a loan got complicated.
“Brokers First Funding was built on a single conviction: the people who serve borrowers best deserve a wholesale lender who does the same for them.”
That conviction shaped everything — the name, the product shelf, the AE model, the operational standards, the hiring decisions. Every choice BFF makes starts with the same question: does this make the broker more capable?
If yes, we do it. If it doesn't serve the broker, we don't.
BFF is a wholesale lender. We do not originate loans directly. We do not compete with the brokers we serve. Our only job is to make the broker's loan possible — and then make it close.
These are not aspirations. They are operating principles — the standards against which every BFF employee, every product decision, and every broker interaction is measured.
“We Deliver” is not a tagline. It is the standard against which every person at BFF is measured. When a broker submits a loan, they are trusting us with their client’s outcome, their own reputation, and often a closing deadline that cannot slip. Delivery means the rate lock holds. The approval is real. The conditions make sense and can be satisfied. The closing happens when we said it would.
The name is not metaphorical. Every product we add, every process we build, every hire we make — the first question is: does this serve the broker? We do not compete with our brokers. We do not originate direct. Brokers first is a structural commitment, not a slogan.
A loan that doesn’t work is better identified in the first 24 hours than on the day of closing. A guideline change that affects open pipeline needs to be communicated immediately. We believe that honest, direct communication — even when it is uncomfortable — is the foundation of a broker relationship that lasts.
BFF does not try to be everything to everyone. We are a specialist lender — particularly in Non-QM and complex lending — and we invest deeply in being genuinely good at what we offer rather than generically available for everything. A bank statement loan at BFF is underwritten by someone who has seen thousands of bank statement files.
We hold ourselves accountable to our broker partners — to our rate sheets, our turn times, our conditions, our commitments. We also hold ourselves accountable to the regulatory environment and to the standards that protect borrowers and the integrity of the mortgage market.
The Non-QM market exists because the traditional mortgage system can't serve everyone. Self-employed borrowers whose taxes don't reflect their actual income. Real estate investors whose portfolios have outgrown conventional lending. Foreign nationals building wealth in the United States.
BFF's long-term vision is a mortgage market where the broker channel is strong enough, and the products available through it are deep enough, that no qualified borrower gets turned away because their income looks unusual on paper.
Mission statements mean nothing without specific commitments attached to them. These are ours.
I built Brokers First Funding because I believed — and still believe — that the broker channel is the most important distribution system in the American mortgage market. Brokers fight for their clients in ways that direct lenders never will.
What brokers needed was a wholesale lender that operated with the same level of commitment they brought to their clients. That's the gap BFF was built to fill.
The name says it plainly: Brokers First. Not investors first. Not volume first. Not our own bottom line first. Every decision we make at BFF runs through that filter.
We Deliver is what we say. Brokers First is who we are. I hope you'll give us the opportunity to prove it to you.
